Adobe Photoshop Web and Mobile AI Assistant

Adobe has unveiled the beta version of its AI Assistant for Photoshop on web and mobile. This innovative feature analyzes images, offering editing suggestions, and allows users to enter “Do it for me” commands to create custom alterations, such as object removal, background changes, lighting adjustments, or color tweaks.
If you prefer manual control over your edits, you can ask the AI Assistant to “Show me” instead. Edits are applied on new layers, ensuring a non-destructive workflow that lets you revert to the original image or adjust your changes easily. The mobile app even enables voice requests for communicating with the AI Assistant.

Additionally, the web version of Photoshop is introducing a new feature called AI Markup, also powered by the AI Assistant and currently in public beta. This feature allows direct prompt-based changes by drawing annotations directly on the image. You can then input specific prompts to affect the marked areas.
In the above example, simple illustrations like a cross or an arrow are used to indicate the removal of distractions and the addition of flowers. Users can also add notes to objects for specific changes while including broader prompts that can modify the entire image.

Adobe is also enhancing its creative AI studio, Firefly, by introducing numerous new features. This update will provide users with greater creative control through additional tools: Generative Fill, Remove, Expand, and Upscale, along with a Remove Background feature. The masking tools also allow for painting directly onto the image to target specific edits.
- Generative Fill: Add, replace, or refine elements with context-aware results.
- Generative Remove: Effortlessly eliminate unwanted objects.
- Generative Expand: Adjust images to new sizes and aspect ratios.
- Generative Upscale: Enhance resolution and sharpen details for exports.
- Remove Background: Easily isolate subjects and eliminate backgrounds with a single click.
Moreover, Adobe is offering unlimited generations in both Adobe Firefly and Photoshop’s AI Assistant for the web and mobile platforms. Until April 9, paid subscribers can enjoy this unlimited feature, while freemium users have access to 20 free generations. Users of Firefly currently benefit from unlimited generations as well.
