Attorney Alexa Williams Advocates for Fitness in Lifestyle Choices

At 26 years old, Alexa Williams is illustrating a great example of how to harmonize ambition with wellness. As both an attorney and a certified personal trainer, Williams blends her legal expertise with a passion for fitness, showcasing the intersection of mental and physical strength.

Her journey into fitness was gradual rather than sudden. “I can’t pinpoint a specific moment that ignited my interest in fitness,” Williams shared with Flair. “However, I remember starting to go to the gym and finding fulfillment in achieving my goals. Each success motivated me to push my limits even further.” Her dedicated pursuit of becoming the strongest and most confident version of herself is fueled by her commitment to fitness.

Interestingly, fitness wasn’t always a focus in her life. In high school, Williams became known for skipping physical education classes. Yet over time, the gym evolved from a place she avoided to a critical component of her daily routine.

While in law school, Williams initially worked out for fun. As she honed her routine, it became indispensable. “It transformed into a non-negotiable part of my life,” she reflected. “I even hit the gym right after my bar exam because I couldn’t skip leg day.”

A LEGAL LEGACY

Williams’ path to law felt almost destined. With a mother and several family members already in the profession, law was a familiar territory for her from a young age. Her mother, Charmin Stewart-Williams, is a Conveyancing and Probate Attorney.

Advocacy was a core value instilled in her upbringing. “My parents emphasized the importance of speaking up for those who cannot advocate for themselves,” she explained.

After being called to the Jamaican Bar and starting her career at a law firm, the demands of her profession made fitness even more essential. The gym became a vital outlet to relieve stress from the demands of legal practice. As her legal knowledge expanded, so too did her role as a resource for fitness advice.

“Friends and acquaintances began turning to me for guidance,” she noted. Wanting to educate others responsibly, Williams pursued formal training as a personal trainer. Now, she shares fitness tips and inspiration on her social media platforms, @lexiwlifts on TikTok and Instagram.

For Williams, fitness is not merely about appearance; it revolves around strength, health, and functional movement. She strives to create a supportive environment for women to develop their strength and confidence while understanding that true fitness transcends looks.

Despite her growing presence in the fitness landscape, Williams continues her legal practice. Balancing both careers demands strong discipline and organization. “I maintain a strict calendar and ensure I have time to reset each week to avoid overwhelming stress,” she states.

She credits mentors in both fields for shaping her journey. Coaches Alexander Carrington and Mark Miller influenced her understanding of functional training, a pivotal aspect of her fitness philosophy. Jamaican female powerlifters Sami DePass and Ayana Duhaney also inspire her, their strength and commitment serving as ongoing motivation.

“The most rewarding part,” she noted, “is achieving a personal goal or helping someone else reach theirs through my coaching.”

Her advice for those aspiring to juggle multiple passions is straightforward: “Go for it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Just remember to allocate time for self-care to prevent burnout.”

As for what she packs in her gym bag? Williams keeps it practical yet essential: her favorite New Balance 9060 training shoes, a Yeti water bottle for staying hydrated, and headphones for her workout playlist. She also never skips on her pre-workout supplement and, intriguingly, kitchen sponges—a clever trick seasoned gym-goers often use for grip.

In conclusion, Alexa Williams embodies what it means to pursue diverse passions in a balanced manner. Through her dedication to both law and fitness, she motivates others to strive for their personal goals while also emphasizing the importance of self-care and community support. Whether you’re just starting on your fitness journey or looking to enhance your current routine, remember that commitment and balance are key to lasting success.
