The Food Safety and Security Authority has issued a warning to consumers regarding the Moringa 100% Pure Capsules by Rosabella, raising concerns that these products could be contaminated with Salmonella.
In a statement released on Thursday, the authority explained that individuals infected with Salmonella usually begin to show symptoms between 12 and 36 hours post-exposure, although this period can range from six to 72 hours.
The most prevalent symptom is diarrhea, which can sometimes be bloody. Other potential symptoms include fever, headaches, and abdominal cramps. Typically, the illness lasts between four to seven days, and in some cases, diarrhea may become severe enough to necessitate hospitalization. Vulnerable groups such as the elderly, infants, and people with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk of experiencing serious complications.
The affected capsules are packaged in tubs containing 60 capsules and are imported from the USA. Lot numbers subject to the recall consist of the middle seven digits of the code located above the minimum durability date at the base of the bottle.
The specific lot numbers include: from 5020591 to 5020596 with a best before date of 03/2027; from 5030246 to 5030251 with a best before date of 04/2027; from 5040270 to 5040279 with a best before date of 05/2027; from 5050053 to 5050056 with a best before date of 06/2027; from 5060069 to 5060080 with a best before date of 07/2027; from 5080084 to 5080086 with a best before date of 09/2027; from 5090107 to 5090118 with a best before date of 10/2027; and lots 5100039 and 5100048 with a best before date of 11/2027.
The authority advises consumers to either discard the product or return it to the store from which it was purchased.
