Hello! I’m Ben. I create things using agents, despite not being a technical expert. Here’s a collection of resources I’m exploring and working with. If you’re interested in starting your own projects or enhancing your ‘vibe-coding’ skills, join our community.
Hello everyone,
I’m excited to announce a free workshop this Thursday – Become a Builder. This session is designed for individuals who may not have a technical background but want to create applications, automations, and agents using AI tools. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of content and tools, this workshop is perfect for you. I’ll share my process for reverse-engineering business concepts, building from scratch, implementing agent automations, and consistently launching new projects. Register for free here.
Last weekend, things took an interesting turn. The U.S. Department of War (DoW) classified Anthropic as a supply chain risk because of disagreements over the use of Claude in autonomous weapons and mass surveillance. In contrast, OpenAI managed to forge an agreement with the DoW, asserting they maintain the same boundaries as Anthropic. However, this assertion was disputed, leading to an AMA session with the OpenAI team and an update to the existing agreement. Additionally, OpenAI has publicly requested the DoW to reconsider the risk designation for Anthropic.
While the issue remains unresolved, OpenAI has already suffered some reputational damage. Meanwhile, Anthropic took a clever step by introducing an import memory feature for users transitioning from ChatGPT. However, this might not be sufficient, as Anthropic may face more significant challenges depending on the U.S. administration’s priorities. Ben Thompson dives into the intricate political aspects of Anthropic and Alignment.
Despite these hurdles, Anthropic continues to innovate.
Claude Code now features an auto-memory capability, allowing it to learn from previous sessions and recall information when you start anew. Additionally, voice mode in Claude Code is being rolled out, enabling users to type /voice and hold the spacebar for push-to-talk functionality. Your spoken messages are transcribed at no extra cost, not even to your subscription tokens.
OpenAI has secured $110 billion at a valuation of $730 billion. This development introduces Amazon as an investor, and OpenAI plans to utilize Trainium chips for some of its offerings. Notable statistics from the announcement include Codex now boasting 1.6 million weekly users, along with 9 million business clients and 50 million paying ChatGPT consumers.
Entire CLI has added support for Droid, allowing users to share their sessions, chat logs, prompts, and more to maintain context in their work.
Incredible offers a rapid way to work on your computer. Just press a key, speak naturally, and an always-on AI assistant will help you write and act across all your applications. It’s a truly voice-controlled form of ‘vibe computing’ that can significantly boost your productivity. Access is by invitation only, and the first 50 readers will receive access codes.*
