I’ve enjoyed getting to know Tanya Murren and appreciate the energy, creativity, and enthusiasm she brings to everything she does. With 38 years of experience building and operating businesses, Tanya offers valuable real-world insights for her candidacy for the Madras City Council.
Born in Seattle, Tanya has established businesses in Wilmington, North Carolina; Las Vegas; Redmond, Oregon; and Madras. Her husband, Greg, has been an integral partner throughout their journey, with Tanya providing the vision and Greg executing it through hands-on work in building, designing, and renovating their ventures.
While in Redmond, Tanya and Greg opened Welcome Home, a home-furnishings boutique. After settling in Madras in 2021, they launched Midtown Coffee, creating a welcoming spot for community gathering. In 2024, they introduced Urban Home to Madras. Their investments reflect a commitment to the local business community.
Tanya’s commitment extends beyond business; she is currently training to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), advocating for children in foster care who have faced abuse or neglect. Her dedication to this role showcases her compassion and desire to make a meaningful impact on others’ lives.
Moreover, Tanya is focused on enhancing Madras’ business environment and enriching the community’s appearance and vitality. She recognizes that a thriving downtown is vital for local businesses and key to the town’s identity and future.
In her words: “A healthy downtown is important not only to our local businesses but to the identity and future of our entire community.” This statement encapsulates much of what I appreciate about Tanya. She sees possibilities, cares for people, and knows how to turn good ideas into action. She combines vision with practical experience and a genuine interest in Madras’ future.
Tanya is not just a business owner in our community; she’s become a friend. I’ve enjoyed watching her become increasingly invested in Madras and see the care she brings to her work, businesses, and the people around her.
I believe Tanya would bring thoughtful leadership, business acumen, and a strong commitment to Madras to the City Council. I hope you learn more about her candidacy and consider supporting her. Our community would greatly benefit from having someone with her energy, experience, and dedication working on its behalf.
That’s Tanya Murren — and that’s why I’m proud to support her.
