Urgent Recall of Popular Supplement in Ireland Due to Health Risk

Urgent Recall Issued for Popular Supplement Due to Salmonella Concerns

Consumers are being advised to inspect their storage for a recently recalled supplement in Ireland. This precaution comes after authorities issued an alert regarding potential Salmonella contamination.

Particular batches of Rosabella Moringa 100% Pure capsules have been withdrawn from the market due to the risk of Salmonella.

This product, originating from the United States, is widely sold in Ireland and is known as a herbal supplement.

Moringa, a plant-based supplement, is often promoted for its various potential health benefits, including energy enhancement, immune system support, and antioxidant properties. It’s also believed to help reduce inflammation and promote general wellness.

Nonetheless, The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has confirmed that certain batches of the capsules, which come in white plastic bottles containing 60 capsules, may be contaminated.

A spokesperson stated: “Ambrosia Brands, LLC is recalling the specified batches of its Rosabella Moringa capsules due to the possible presence of Salmonella.”

“The affected batches come in white plastic containers. The batch code is located at the bottom of the bottles and consists of the middle seven digits of the code printed above the expiry date. These batches have best-before dates that range from 03/2027 to 11/2027.”

Consumers are strongly advised not to consume any of these potentially affected batches.

Salmonella can pose serious health risks, particularly to vulnerable individuals. The FSAI commented: “Individuals infected with Salmonella typically exhibit symptoms within 12 to 36 hours following exposure, although this window can extend from six to 72 hours. Common symptoms include diarrhoea, which may occasionally be bloody, along with fever, headache, and abdominal cramps.”

“The illness generally lasts from four to seven days. In severe cases, diarrhoea may necessitate hospitalization. The elderly, infants, and individuals with weakened immune systems are at an increased risk of severe illness.”

Wholesalers and distributors have been instructed to reach out to affected customers, initiate recalls of the implicated batches, and provide point-of-sale recall notifications.

Retailers are encouraged to remove the affected batches from their shelves and display appropriate recall notices in-store.

The FSAI reiterated: “Consumers are advised not to consume the specific batches identified.”
