TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Child Care Aware of Eastern Kansas hosted its third annual Celebrity Waiter Soiree on Saturday, Oct. 3.
The event invites local celebrities to serve as waiters and participate in games, raising funds to support early childhood education.
CEO Sarah Elsen emphasized that child care is not just a parental concern but also a community and economic development issue. “Getting celebrities involved helps us spread the mission,” she stated.
The Shawnee Heights Drumline made a special appearance during the soiree, which also featured dinner, games, and auctions. Notable attendees included 13 News anchors David Oliver and Riley Stark.
