Urgent Recall of Health Supplement for Contaminated Bacteria

Children’s sweets have also been recalled as they present a choking hazard

Recent recalls by the FSAI include a health supplement and children’s sweets due to safety concerns.

Certain batches of Rosabella Moringa supplements, available for online purchase, have been recalled both in Ireland and globally. This action is due to contamination with salmonella, a harmful bacteria that can lead to serious health issues.

Signs of a salmonella infection include diarrhea, fever, headache, and abdominal pain. Symptoms typically manifest within 12 to 36 hours after exposure, but can vary between six and 72 hours.

According to the FSAI, “The illness typically lasts four to seven days. In some cases, diarrhea may become severe enough to require hospitalization. Vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, infants, and individuals with weakened immune systems, are at a higher risk of experiencing serious illness.”

The recalled supplements are sold in white plastic bottles, with the batch code located at the bottom. This code consists of the seven digits printed above the expiration date. Affected batches have best-before dates ranging from 03/2027 to 11/2027.

Additionally, a batch of Hello Kitty Apple Jelly Strips has also been recalled. These sweets, originating from China, are available in certain Asian grocery stores.

These sweets pose a choking hazard, representing a significant risk to consumers. Recall notices will be distributed at places of sale, and the public is strongly urged to avoid consuming these products.
