The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall for a vitamin supplement due to potential risks of salmonella contamination.
Ambrosia Brands is recalling multiple lots of its Rosabella Moringa Capsules. These capsules contain moringa powder, which is recognized as a dietary supplement rich in vitamins A, B, and C, as well as protein, calcium, potassium, and iron, as detailed on the official Rosabella website.
The affected products were available for purchase through authorized online platforms such as tryrosabella.com, TikTok Shop, and Amazon. The FDA also noted that these capsules were sold by unauthorized third-party vendors on eBay.com, Shein, and various other sites.
The recalled capsules were first sold beginning in February 2025 and have expiration dates ranging from March 2027 to November 2027. They were packaged in white plastic bottles, according to the FDA.
According to the FDA, salmonella “can lead to severe and occasionally fatal infections in young children, elderly individuals, and others with weakened immune systems.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is currently investigating these capsules in association with a nationwide salmonella outbreak. Reports indicate that seven individuals have contracted the illness, with three requiring hospitalization, as per the CDC.
In response, Ambrosia Brands has ceased the purchase and use of raw moringa leaf powder from the supplier implicated in this recall.
