The following is an excerpt from Cisco’sFY25 Purpose Report. Explore thefull report to learn more about how we Power an Inclusive Future for All.
According to the Cisco AI Readiness Index, nearly one-third of organizations surveyed indicate that employees feel hesitant to embrace AI. Cisco differs in this regard—we recognize that succeeding in the AI era requires not only advanced technology but also a significant focus on nurturing our workforce.
We are fostering a culture of continuous AI learning and experimentation, positioning ourselves as “customer zero” when it comes to utilizing Cisco’s AI-first technology.
Delving Into AI Research

In fiscal 2025, we undertook a comprehensive analysis to understand how employees interact with AI tools and the implications for the workplace. The study targeted three primary areas of impact:
- Adoption: Leadership significantly influences AI engagement. At Cisco, employees whose leaders utilize AI are twice as likely to adopt it themselves. Additionally, tenure plays a role; employees with under a year or over 20 years at Cisco display the highest levels of AI usage.
- Experience: Alongside Cisco-sponsored training, 91% of focus group participants have learned about AI through experimentation.
- Impact: AI serves as a workflow enhancer, with high-performing employees integrating AI into their daily tasks to improve efficiency and prioritize critical work.
These findings will guide our ongoing strategy for enhancing the AI employee experience.
Creating AI Accessibility for All
AI for Everyone is Cisco’s premier AI learning initiative, aimed at all employees regardless of their technical expertise.
Developed by Cisconians for Cisconians, this program provides engaging lessons and practical AI exercises. It includes four persona-based modules—Users, Leaders, Enablers, and Builders—offering targeted learning opportunities that range from foundational skills to advanced AI data analytics. This approach marks a transition from broad AI training to more specialized, role-relevant content.
In addition, we have introduced a dedicated AI training program that focuses on data privacy, inclusive design, and ethical human-in-the-loop decision-making, enabling employees to approach AI adoption with care and responsibility.
Unveiling CIRCUIT

Two years ago, we introduced our first Cisco IT Enterprise Chat AI tool, initially designed to provide employees with a secure way to interact with generative AI. Since then, it has evolved significantly.
In fiscal 2025, we rolled out an upgraded AI assistant, CIRCUIT, crafted by Cisco IT. This internal tool seamlessly integrates the most current AI models into one user-friendly platform.
CIRCUIT can efficiently handle a range of tasks—from routine email drafting to extensive research. It continues to advance as AI technology evolves, addressing more complex data, incorporating smarter agents, and laying the foundation for interconnected, automated workflows.
With each new feature, we are moving closer to creating a streamlined AI-enhanced work environment for our employees, all while maintaining Cisco’s standards of trust and security.
