U.S. Treasury Broadens Iran Sanctions to Include Automotive and Railway Industries, Identifies 30 Individuals and Organizations — BigGo Finance

The U.S. Treasury Department announced on the 1st that it is expanding sanctions on Iran’s industrial sectors, including automobiles and railways, as part of a broader effort to economically isolate the country. Alongside Iranian firms, 30 individuals and entities, including those from China, the UAE, and Indonesia with business ties to Iran, have been designated.

These sanctions aim to cut off funding sources for the Iranian government, particularly targeting sectors that are heavily influenced by the government and the Revolutionary Guard Corps. Designated entities will face asset freezes in the U.S. and bans on financial transactions, extending the impact to third-country firms involved with Iran. The details of the targeted entities and the scope of the sanctions were included in the Treasury Department’s announcement.
