Hawaiian Airlines Expands Kauai Routes and Transports Aid Supplies Following Hurricane Lowell

Hawaiian Airlines is stepping up its assistance for Kauai as it recovers from Hurricane Lowell. CEO Diana Birkett Rakow announced that the airline has reinstated its Kauai flight schedule and is adding extra flights for both passengers and cargo. In just two days, over 7,000 passengers were transported from Lihue.

The airline is collaborating with Hawaiian Electric and Kauai Island Utility Cooperative to send electricians to help rebuild essential infrastructure. Additionally, its cargo operations are handling urgent shipments of water, food, and medical supplies to the island.

Rakow emphasized ongoing communication with government bodies and relief organizations to aid those affected, including residents of Niʻihau. Hawaiian is also providing flexible travel options for passengers needing to adjust their flight plans and is matching donations of Atmos Rewards points to the American Red Cross of Hawaii, up to 1 million points, to assist recovery efforts.
