Xero, a provider of accounting software designed for small businesses, has entered into a multi-year partnership to integrate its platform with Anthropic’s Claude AI.
This collaboration aims to enhance Xero’s functionality by incorporating Claude’s AI capabilities, allowing users access to Xero’s financial data and services through Claude.ai.

According to Xero, this partnership is intended to enable small businesses and their accounting advisors to quickly access vital financial information and take respective actions from either platform.
Diya Jolly, Xero’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, stated: “Small business owners frequently have pressing questions: Why is cash flow low this month? Which invoices remain unpaid? Am I in a position to hire?”
“To manage their operations effectively, both small business owners and their accountants must have the ability to address these inquiries and act accordingly, whether they’re using Xero or Claude. This partnership caters to that need.”
Xero noted that this marks the first instance where its customers can directly interact with their accounting records within a prominent AI platform.
For Claude, this integration is designed to facilitate comprehensive financial operations for small businesses at scale.
The collaboration is expected to minimize routine tasks, such as tracking overdue invoices or aggregating cash flow data across various reports, as Claude will pinpoint relevant information and suggest actions.
Key features of this integration include automation driven by Claude within Xero, as well as insights and actions sourced from Xero made accessible in Claude.ai.
Within the Xero platform, users will have the ability to leverage Claude to oversee financial processes encompassing accounting, payroll, and payments from beginning to end.
Meanwhile, within Claude.ai, customers will be able to analyze their Xero financial data and insights deeply, with safeguarding measures to protect that information.

Over the coming months, users can expect the rollout of Claude-powered insights in Xero and the integration of Xero functionalities into Claude.ai. Additionally, Xero’s engineering teams will employ Claude and Cowork to expedite product development.
