Amanda Holden, 55, Shares Her Fitness Motivation Secret

As we age, making fitness and nutrition a priority becomes increasingly essential. However, staying motivated can be especially challenging during the colder months.

Amanda Holden, who recently marked her 55th birthday by sharing a vibrant photoshoot on Instagram, has openly discussed her efforts to maintain her fitness as she ages. She candidly expressed to the TV Times, “I don’t find it easy.”

To help her stay on track, Amanda shared a clever motivational strategy: “I’m not a slave to any beauty or fitness regime because I love food too much.”

‘But the deal I struck with myself was I have to run for my rosé wine in the summer and run for my red wine in winter.’

Amanda also attributes her health to a vegetarian diet, which she claims helps her stay fit “by default.” She enjoys using her Peloton bike to prepare for her role in Britain’s Got Talent.

In addition to cycling, she runs three to four miles each week, practices Kundalini yoga, and participates in what is known as the Viking workout—a high-intensity, functional fitness routine that emphasizes body weight exercises to build strength and endurance. While such a regimen may be intense, remember that few of us experience the same pressure to maintain a public persona as she does.

If you are finding it difficult to commit to regular exercise, consider results from a recent study published in the journal Frontier. The research indicates that people’s personalities can influence their preferences in workout styles. For example, extroverts typically enjoy high-energy group training, while those with a tendency towards anxiety (high ‘neuroticism’) might prefer private workouts with brief breaks. If you’re generally laid-back, engaging in long, relaxed activities like leisurely bike rides or group walking may suit you better. This could be the perfect time to lace up those trainers!

### Conclusion

Staying fit as we age is certainly a challenge, but by finding the right motivation and workout styles that resonate with our personalities, we can make it more enjoyable. Remember, it’s not just about maintaining an image; it’s about feeling good and making health a priority. So, discover what works best for you, keep moving, and most importantly, enjoy the journey!
