The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the job landscape, making it essential for professionals to adapt and learn. With a strong emphasis on embracing new technologies, industry leaders are stressing the importance of acquiring AI skills to maintain relevance in the workforce.
One expert suggested that young professionals ought to familiarize themselves with practical AI tools. “AI is progressing relentlessly; if you don’t engage with AI, it will impact you,” he noted. He encouraged individuals to set a personal goal of mastering three AI platforms within the next three months. “The more you immerse yourself in this technology, the more secure your job will be,” he advised.
Tech industry leaders underscored the need for professionals to adopt AI tools to remain competitive in an evolving job market. Sateesh Seetharamiah, CEO of EdgeVerve—an Infosys subsidiary—pointed out that AI acts as a powerful capability enhancer. He emphasized that “life-long learning” will be crucial for navigating the AI landscape.
According to Seetharamiah, AI has significantly boosted productivity in businesses; however, accountability for completed tasks will always rest with humans. “Job roles may evolve, but jobs themselves will not disappear,” he remarked.
Vineet Nayar, Founder Chairman of Sampark, shared insights into the future of employment amid AI advancements. He estimated that while 50% of existing jobs may be affected by AI, an equal number of new jobs will arise that will require skilled workers proficient in AI tools. “AI provides an opportunity for us to reskill, but we need to identify which skills will be necessary in our respective fields,” Nayar concluded.
