Loveland’s Little Miss Valentine and Mr. Cupid Contest: A Heartwarming Celebration
Each year, Loveland’s Sweetheart Festival becomes a hub of joy and community spirit, and one of its most delightful highlights is the contest to crown Loveland’s Little Miss Valentine and Mr. Cupid. This charming event features babies and toddlers dressed in their Valentine’s Day best, competing for the sought-after titles.
A Festive Atmosphere
This year’s contest took place on an exciting Saturday morning at the Rialto Theater, where toddlers aged four and under showcased their dazzling costumes and vibrant personalities. The participating little ones were evaluated based on guidelines set by the festival, ensuring a focus on charm and creativity.
The event was hosted by Loveland Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mindy McCloughan, alongside Miss Loveland Valentine, Ellory Anne Bauersfeld. A panel of esteemed judges included Ms. Colorado Senior America, Terrilynn Moore Smith; City Council member Andrea Samson; Miss Colorado, Gabby Gramont; and Ms. Senior America, Natalie Oliver-Atherton.
“It’s one of the most enjoyable times of the year for us,” said McCloughan after the competition, embracing the spirit of Loveland as the sweetheart city.

Celebrating Young Talent
The event saw incredible talent, with the winners announced as follows: Koa Bishop for girls aged 0-2, Khloe Turner for girls aged 3-4, Oliver Romero for boys aged 0-2, and Liam LeClair-Brooks for boys aged 3-4. Each champion took home $250 and gift cards to local businesses, a rewarding gesture for their charming performances.
Among the participants were last year’s winners, 4-year-old McKinlee Polston and her sister, 3-year-old Maylee Polston, who returned to reminisce about their previous success while sporting enchanting costumes. Their mother, Kylie Polston, cherishes these community engagements, stating that they provide rich experiences for her children that she missed out on in her childhood.
“I grew up in a small town, and there weren’t many opportunities for activities. Now, we fully commit—attending all the pumpkin patches and competitions, and I even handmake their outfits,” she shared.

Uplifting Community Spirit
Other contestants, like 4-year-old Khloe Turner from Fort Collins, were new to the pageantry scene but left a lasting impression. Khloe’s dad, Monquales Turner, expressed excitement for her participation, mentioning the effort that went into her whimsical costume, which included a cupcake-inspired tutu and sparkly accessories.
The audience erupted with cheers when 3-year-old Liam LeClair-Brooks, dressed as a charming mariachi singer complete with a guitar, made his stage debut. His costume, inspired by his Mexican heritage, was a source of pride for his parents.

Loveland resident Gayatri Mandava shared her pride as her 2-year-old daughter, Sitara Karanam, took the stage, highlighting the value of building confidence through supportive community activities.

Conclusion: A Celebration of Community and Joy
The Loveland Little Miss Valentine and Mr. Cupid contest is more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and young talent. Each child brings their unique sparkle, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the Sweetheart Festival.
