Yesterday, our President, Mr. Andrea Stegher, participated in the Argentina-EU Strategic Dialogue on Energy Security, Energy Transition, and LNG. This event was organized by the Embassy of Argentina to Belgium and the EU in collaboration with the European Commission.
The dialogue featured senior representatives from the European Commission, Argentine authorities, and various EU Member States, aiming to discuss Europe’s changing energy landscape and Argentina’s role in enhancing European energy security and supply diversification.
A significant focus was placed on Argentina’s growing LNG export capabilities and the potential for European companies and investors to engage in its development. The discussions also explored opportunities for collaboration, investment, and business partnerships within the energy sector.
Mr. Stegher took part in the panel titled “Navigating the Global Energy Landscape: Markets, Security and Policy Responses,” alongside Ms. Beatriz Yordi, Director for International and Energy Security at the European Commission, and H.E. Daniel González Casartelli, Secretary for Energy and Mining of Argentina. The session was moderated by Mr. Paolo Garzotti, Head of Unit for Trade Relations with Latin America in DG TRADE.
In his remarks, Mr. Stegher provided insights into the current state of the global gas and LNG market as well as the International Gas Union’s future outlook. He discussed expectations regarding the evolution of the gas and LNG market, particularly concerning demand, supply, investment, and trade flows.
