As the Sense and Sensibility press tour comes to a close, I find myself wishing it would continue. Despite the usual grind of premieres and method dressing, I wouldn’t mind seeing more of Daisy Edgar-Jones’ stunning interpretations of Austen-era fashion, crafted in collaboration with stylist Dani Michelle. Their approach merges historical elements with modern sensibilities, beautifully updating corsetry, romantic undergarments, and empire waists.

At the Los Angeles premiere, Edgar-Jones made a memorable exit, portraying her character Elinor Dashwood through her outfit—a romantic cream-and-purple corset set from Stella McCartney’s Spring 1999 collection for Chloé, reflecting the soft lavender hues in Elinor’s wardrobe.

Stylist Dani Michelle shared her creative journey, stating, “Earlier this year I got the privilege to see the movie and immediately made a mood board for how we would storytell Daisy’s character in today’s fashion. This 1999 Chloé by Stella McCartney was the centerpiece.”

The ensemble included a floral-adorned corset with a sweetheart neckline and a semi-sheer shawl that elegantly draped over her shoulders. The two-tone skirt, capturing Elinor’s signature lavender hue, cascaded gracefully to the floor, punctuated with matching heels.
As the stylist reflected on this final red-carpet moment, she expressed her heartfelt appreciation: “Daisy always said she wanted to wear lavender to honor Elinor’s costumes. Seeing this vision fulfilled was everything. Thank you, Daisy, for being beyond words.”
