Experience an Unforgettable Musical Journey: The Philly Pops in South Jersey
This March, music enthusiasts in South Jersey will have the opportunity to witness an enchanting performance by the Philly Pops. With a captivating concert program that showcases beloved film scores, this event promises to be a highlight for both fans of classical music and movie soundtracks.
Join us on March 14 at Rowan University for “Blockbusters in the ‘Burbs,” beginning at 3 p.m. in the Pfleeger Concert Hall as part of the Marie Rader Series. This marks the inaugural performance of the newly reformed Philly Pops at Rowan’s campus, making it a memorable occasion for attendees.
Under the expert baton of Music Director Christopher Dragon, the orchestra will delight listeners with pieces from renowned films such as “Beauty and the Beast,” “Encanto,” “Schindler’s List,” along with vibrant selections from “The Incredibles” and “Catch Me if You Can.” The concert will foster a welcoming atmosphere, catering to all audiences, including those on the autism spectrum, by incorporating a sensory-friendly environment.
The current iteration of the Philly Pops was established in 2023, formed by talented musicians from the original ensemble. The orchestra’s legacy continues under the direction of Christopher Dragon, an Australian conductor with a wealth of experience, including his previous role as assistant conductor of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
Ticket Information
Tickets are priced at $35 for general admission, while Rowan alumni and employees, seniors (55+), Glassboro residents, and military personnel can purchase them for $25. Youth tickets are available for $10, and Rowan students can attend for free. Tickets can be obtained through Rowan University’s College of the Arts box office.
