Fashion trends often take time to establish themselves, sometimes spanning years before they resonate with the right audience or coincide with cultural shifts. When they finally do catch on, they can turn into massive phenomena. One noteworthy example is Rag & Bone’s Miramar Jeans, widely recognized as the viral sweatpant jeans.
Originally launched in 2013, these pants blend the aesthetics of denim with the comfort of sweatpants. They became hugely popular in 2020, a moment that aligned with the pandemic, which heightened the public’s need for comfort but also a desire to appear stylish. Social media platforms like TikTok played a significant role in their rapid success, turning the Miramar jeans into a staple in wardrobes across the board.
Six years later, they remain a favorite among fashion-forward individuals, perfect for remote work, running errands, or air travel. Recognizing this enduring appeal, Rag & Bone has unveiled an updated design for 2026: the Miramar Sport Stripe Track Pant. This new iteration features colorful stripes down the legs and fuses elements of sweatpants, wide-leg jeans, and track pants, which are currently trending in stylish locales like Copenhagen, New York, and London.
While my personal style typically gravitates towards neutrals (think black, navy, and brown), I was initially hesitant about the vibrant striped versions now available in eye-catching hues like orange/cobalt blue, green/white, and red/navy. However, my trust in Rag & Bone’s fashion prowess—particularly reinforced during my time at the Georgetown store in 2017—led me to purchase a pair.

My Review
The Miramar Sport Stripe Track Pants deliver the cozy feel of sweatpants thanks to their Miramar Terry fabric, a plush cotton blend, while the trompe l’oeil denim print creates an appearance that resembles distressed denim with a classic five-pocket design. The pants feature a convenient pull-on elastic waistband, designed to create a faux button-like closure.
Although the size range doesn’t match that of the traditional denim line, it does offer sizes XXS to XL. For context, I usually wear a size 25 in jeans and chose XS for these pants. I could have even sized down to XXS, indicating they tend to run a bit large. At 5 feet tall with a 31.5-inch inseam, they did drag on the ground a bit—something I can usually overlook, but in this case, a minor hem adjustment will likely be required.
Despite needing to reassess my sizing, I’m genuinely excited about the overall aesthetic. This is my first experience with the Miramar line, and I now regret not trying it sooner, despite my mom’s praise. The comfort level is outstanding, and there’s something feel-good about wearing a relaxed silhouette while still feeling put together. The colorful stripes style easily; I opted for a high-V-neck sweater to balance the sporty vibe, complemented by sleek black closed-toe kitten heels for a touch of edge and refinement. I look forward to wearing these throughout winter and into spring, especially since the upcoming season promises to embrace bold color combinations, which Rag & Bone captures perfectly with these track pants.
