Iran’s Stance on Strait of Hormuz Amid Trump’s Comments on Drone Threat

The recent turmoil in the oil market has left a substantial impact on global oil supply. According to the CEO of Saudi Aramco, approximately 1 billion barrels of oil have been lost over the previous two months due to various disruptions.

Even if energy supplies are restored, Amin Nasser emphasized that it will take considerable time for the market to stabilize.

“Our objective is straightforward: keep energy flowing, even when the system is under pressure,” he stated.

“Reopening supply routes is not equivalent to normalizing a market that has experienced a loss of about one billion barrels of oil.”

The soaring costs of jet fuel due to the ongoing conflict in Iran have raised questions about the sustainability of air travel. Experts suggest that airlines might need to explore cleaner, alternative fuels, provided there is adequate investment.

After a seven-hour pause, Donald Trump returned to Truth Social with a series of posts, including AI-generated images related to the Iran conflict and snapshots from a golf tournament.

The ongoing strife has resulted in a significant loss of approximately 1 billion barrels of oil globally over the last two months. Saudi Aramco’s CEO stated that even if supply lines are restored, it will take considerable time for the market to recover.

“Our goal is clear: to ensure energy continues to flow, even under pressure,” said Amin Nasser to Reuters.

Saudi Aramco announced a net profit of 120.13 billion riyals ($32.5 billion) during the first quarter of 2026, marking a 25.5 percent increase from last year’s profit of 95.68 billion riyals ($25.4 billion). This growth comes amid the rising prices triggered by the US-Israeli hostilities with Iran.

Early this morning, the Israeli military reported having killed over 10 Hezbollah operatives and hit around 40 sites in Lebanon during recent airstrikes over the weekend.

The airstrikes specifically targeted Hezbollah facilities, including weapon depots and rocket launchers.

The military claimed these operatives were identified as being close to Israeli troops at the time of the attacks.

This morning, a Qatari tanker carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz, as reported by shipping data.

Germany is reinvigorating its proposed acquisition of Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States, as reported by the Financial Times, citing sources familiar with Berlin’s strategic ambitions.

The Tomahawk Land Attack Missile, known for its long-range capabilities, is typically launched from sea to engage distant targets in combat operations.

The Pentagon previously confirmed a seven-year deal with Raytheon to ramp up Tomahawk production, a response to reduced inventories caused by ongoing military actions against Iran.

According to reports, Berlin aims to persuade the Trump administration to approve their purchase of the Tomahawk missiles along with Typhon ground launchers.
