Buy Charvet Slippers Online: No Trip to Paris Needed

About two years ago, I found myself on a press trip in Europe and, on a whim, decided to book a flight to Paris for some retail therapy. Upon my arrival mid-morning, I asked the taxi driver to take me to an address that wasn’t a hotel or a café for breakfast, but rather to Alaïa. There, I started my day with a delightful espresso, surrounded by a stunning display of ballet-pink pumps, mesh Mary Janes, and luxurious bags made from nubuck leather and pony hair. My purchase? A navy-blue Le Teckel, which energized me for my next shopping destination: Charvet.

Situated at 28 Place Vendôme, directly across from the iconic Ritz Paris, Charvet has been a staple of high-end menswear since 1838, the year Joseph-Christophe Charvet opened the world’s first shirt shop. The boutique is a sensory delight, with rich jewel tones adorning the walls amidst displays of silk ties, patterned shirts, and a tall shelf filled with exquisite house slippers in a spectrum of vibrant hues. Here, you can find a mix of leather and suede options, in neutral shades like navy, brown, and black, along with vibrant pieces in colors such as red and royal blue. While I appreciate a perfectly tailored shirt, I was particularly excited to pick up a pair of those luxurious slippers.

In the months that followed my luxurious investment, I frequently wore my olive-green suede slippers, bringing them along to destinations like Seoul, Milan, and Athens. They come with a matching suede travel bag, making them the ideal companions for any journey. Their primary purpose is to provide a touch of home comfort when you’re exploring the world. Yet, I find myself wearing them mostly around my apartment, often paired with cashmere socks, silk pants, and cozy knits—all of which make everyday life feel more elevated.

However, there’s a catch: Charvet lacks an e-commerce presence, which previously made acquiring a pair of slippers a challenge unless you took a trip to Paris. While it’s a valid excuse for a getaway, finding a more convenient way was a search I undertook. Fortunately, over the past few years, Charvet slippers have become accessible beyond Paris, now available for international shipping via retailers like Mr Porter and MyTheresa. However, finding them in stock can be a challenge. Their appeal has surged among fashion enthusiasts, including influencers like Christie Tyler and Julia Rabinowitsch, the founder of The Millennial Decorator, as well as celebrities like Dakota Johnson and Laura Harrier. Smaller sizes, in particular, tend to fly off the shelves. Thankfully, I keep a close eye on restocks and have recently spotted ample XS and S sizes available on both sites. I won’t keep this information to myself!
