Urgent Fundraiser Update: We’re Falling Short!

As we dive into the second week of our fundraising campaign, it’s clear we still have a long way to go. We are currently lagging behind our targets, which are crucial for providing you the comprehensive and diverse content you expect for 2026. We encourage those who haven’t yet found the time to contribute to visit our donation page and give generously.

Our average donation level remains consistent with last year. However, we’ve received an abundance of heartfelt feedback from readers praising our work, especially our new Coffee Break/Sunday movie feature. This indicates that we continue to meet, if not exceed, your expectations.

We had hoped to be in a stronger position by now, particularly due to our anticipation that supporters of the previous Water Cooler series would appreciate our new Coffee Break feature. Our goal was for those funds to transition into regular contributions for Naked Capitalism. While many have shifted to monthly subscriptions (a huge thank you to those who have!), we still need more support for this vital fundraiser, which is essential for operating the site in the upcoming year.

Our aim is to continue delivering the broad, timely, rigorous, insightful, and often humorous coverage you’ve come to expect in 2026! We wish to avoid any cutbacks, but this can only happen if more of you contribute significantly. Please head over to the Tip Jar and consider making a substantial donation.

Readers with limited means have expressed how deeply significant this site is to them, and we are genuinely touched by their messages. Here is one from Lena:

A close friend introduced me to Naked Capitalism in 2008. He passed away a couple of years ago, and every time I visit the site, I think of him. For many years, I was hesitant to share comments, believing I wasn’t knowledgeable enough to participate. However, after facing a personal homelessness crisis and reading posts on similar topics, I felt compelled to contribute my insights.

Once I started commenting, the kindness I received from others was overwhelming. Yves, whom I have always respected, showed immense kindness to me, a woman from a low-income background with no experience in economics or finance. After finally finding stable housing, I faced a cancer diagnosis that turned my world upside down again. The support from this community has meant the world to me. I have gained a wealth of knowledge from the posts and comments about various domestic and international issues, but it’s the kindness that I will cherish the most. I’m truly sorry I can’t donate right now; all I can offer is my heartfelt thanks.

Here’s another message from Stone L:

I’ve mailed my check for $40. Though I don’t have a lot to spare, your site is exceptional, and I appreciate all that you do.

And one more from Judith K:

After reading the post about mailing a check, I sent a small donation of $5 a few days ago to the specified address. I contribute according to my means; thank you for all you do.

Your support is crucial. Please give whatever you can—whether it’s $5, $50, or $5,000—through our Tip Jar. Every contribution, no matter the size, drives us closer to our fundraising goals. If you’re in a position to give more, we hope you’ll consider including us in your generosity, not just for our sake but for community members who wish they could help but are currently financially constrained.

Invest in fostering better debates, a more just society, and a richer culture. Encourage critical thinking and independence. Channel your frustrations positively. Relish your daily dose of cute animal content. Please visit Naked Capitalism and click on our Tip Jar to help keep this essential resource thriving.
