Aisha Bowe, a former NASA rocket scientist and Blue Origin astronaut, emphasized Türkiye’s potential in aviation and space during her visit to Space Camp Türkiye. Engaging with students, she highlighted the country’s strong talent pool and their capability to contribute to future space endeavors.
Bowe remarked, “In each city I visited, I encountered talented individuals who I believe will shape Türkiye’s aviation and space future.” Her travels included stops in Bursa, Istanbul, and Adana, where she discussed advancements in the field and the value of microgravity experiments for agriculture.
Drawing from her experience as a scientific payload operator on Blue Origin’s NS-31 flight, she noted the increasing multidisciplinary nature of the space sector and the widespread interest in Türkiye.
Bowe encouraged everyone to explore space opportunities, stating, “The word ‘impossible’ is only an idea.” She emphasized the need for diverse professionals—from doctors to psychologists—in space missions.
The inspiration from Turkish astronaut Alper Gezeravci’s mission and Türkiye’s involvement in the Artemis Accords presents further prospects for collaboration in the space sector.
Bowe also shared insights from her microgravity research, indicating that such studies could address terrestrial challenges, especially in agriculture. “By understanding the changes in microgravity, we can apply our findings to solving problems on Earth,” she concluded.
