Recent research has shed light on the intriguing relationship between brain connectivity and physical strength. Notably, more robust functional connections involving the caudate nucleus were consistently associated with increased grip strength, independent of both sex and muscle mass. Additionally, other brain regions, such as certain areas of the hippocampus and the anterior cingulate cortex, displayed similar associations, yet the caudate nucleus seemed to serve as a key hub in this network.
