BeyondTrust Unveils AI Agent Security Tools

BeyondTrust introduces tools for securing AI agents

BeyondTrust, a leader in identity security, has unveiled enhanced features for its Pathfinder Platform. These additions aim to offer a comprehensive solution for safeguarding AI agents and autonomous AI workloads across various enterprise environments.

The new features include an endpoint privilege management tool designed to enforce the principle of least privilege and manage application controls for AI clients operating within enterprise endpoints. Additionally, the platform now offers capabilities for AI agent discovery and risk analysis, which facilitate the identification, classification, and posture auditing of agentic AI systems.

BeyondTrust’s tools are compatible with major enterprise AI platforms such as OpenAI’s Admin, Projects, and ChatGPT Enterprise, Google Vertex AI and Discovery Engine, Salesforce Agentforce, ServiceNow AI agents, and AWS Bedrock.

Other newly integrated tools feature a secrets management solution for autonomous agents that ensures just-in-time access to critical secrets and API keys related to agent workloads. There is also a tool specifically crafted to assist in managing the rapid deployment of AI agents within enterprise settings.

Mark Maiffret, CTO of BeyondTrust, noted that while AI agents are becoming more prevalent in enterprises, many organizations struggle to understand how many agents are active in their systems and the data these agents can access. “Agentic AI is not an isolated problem; it is part of the broader non-human identity landscape,” he explained. “Organizations cannot effectively protect agentic identities in isolation, as these agents are interconnected with human identities, machine accounts, secrets, and entitlements across all environments.”

Maiffret emphasized, “The key question for security teams is not whether they have AI agents—they do—but rather what these agents can access, what secrets they utilize, and the consequences of a potential compromise. The impact of a single AI agent can reach across identity providers, cloud infrastructures, SaaS platforms, and on-premises directories simultaneously. Pathfinder helps to visualize these cross-domain privilege connections, revealing how a compromised agent could escalate access throughout the entire organization.”
