  • Blueroot Health has recalled Vital Nutrients Aller-C vitamin C supplements across the country due to undeclared allergens, as notified by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
  • Here’s a list of the affected products.

If vitamin C supplements are part of your routine, it’s essential to check their labels carefully. Many popular vitamin C supplements have been recalled due to undisclosed ingredients, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

According to a recent announcement from the FDA, Blueroot Health has issued a recall of two lots of Vital Nutrients Aller-C supplements because they potentially contain egg, hazelnut, and soy, none of which were disclosed on the label. The FDA warns that individuals with sensitivities or allergies to these ingredients could face serious or even life-threatening reactions.

Here’s what you need to know.

Which products are affected by the recall?

The recalled supplements were manufactured by Blueroot Health and come in white plastic bottles containing either 100 or 200 capsules. Check your medicine cabinet for the following:

  • 200-count bottles of Vital Nutrients Aller-C with lot number 25E04-B
  • 100-count bottles of Vital Nutrients Aller-C with lot numbers 25E04-A or 25E04-B

All recalled bottles have an expiration date of 05/27. The affected supplements were distributed throughout the country by Vital Nutrients and various online retailers. For more information, including UPC codes for the impacted products, you can refer to the FDA’s enforcement report.

What should I do with a recalled product?

If you have purchased one of the recalled supplements, the FDA recommends that you stop taking them immediately, regardless of whether you have allergies or sensitivities to any undeclared ingredients. You can return the product to Blueroot Health for a replacement. For any inquiries, please email support@vitalnutrients.co or call (888) 328-9992. While no illnesses related to the recalls have been reported, seek medical attention if you experience any adverse reactions.
