A masked driver was arrested on the University of Maryland campus after driving aggressively while appearing to wield a weapon. Police later identified the weapon as a white gaming rifle used for video games. Christopher Alongzo Garner, 40, from Washington, D.C., has been charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. He is currently held without bond.
Police were alerted around 9:20 a.m. to a white Dodge van behaving erratically on campus. Officers stopped the van and found the gaming rifle inside.
