This festive season is typically a time for joy and indulgence, a moment to revel in celebrations and enjoy the company of loved ones. It’s the season to shop extensively, as the economy thrives on it.
While losing your job is never easy, being handed a termination notice during Christmas is particularly harsh. Has this ever happened to you?
Strangely enough, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues in the House of Representatives orchestrated a similar misfortune by initiating the impeachment of President Trump this week. Even Ebenezer Scrooge, with his notorious frugality, wouldn’t have dismissed Bob Cratchit during the holiday season. After all, Scrooge did allow Cratchit Christmas Day off — with pay.
It’s worth noting that Trump is far from a likable character. He indulges in Big Macs while lounging in bed and engages in prolific rants on television. Following that, he vents his grievances during calls with Sean Hannity and proceeds to unleash his thoughts on Twitter. This cycle repeats with alarming regularity.
While such behavior might not align with the dignified image of a president, it is undeniably entertaining.
Throughout this spectacle, Democrats and commentators like Anderson Cooper have dismissed Trump as unworthy. Yet a more pressing question arises: Does he truly deserve impeachment?
This is a matter that no one, even Adam Schiff, seems to be able to answer with conviction.
Although House Democrats voted in favor of their two articles of impeachment, they failed to substantiate accusations of high crimes and misdemeanors against Trump. They disregarded the American values of due process and a fair trial, effectively reducing the legislative branch to a shadow of its intended purpose.
Russian Bots
Make no mistake, Trump is likely to emerge from this sham impeachment in a stronger position than before. Legal acquittal from the Senate awaits him, provided Pelosi follows through by transmitting the articles of impeachment; otherwise, Trump remains technically unblemished.
In any case, House Democrats have unwittingly armed Trump with ample opportunities to counterattack against both challengers and critics alike. Furthermore, a familiar political face may soon re-enter the fray.
While the divine may have crafted all beings, there are certain individuals whose absence would enhance the world. Hillary Clinton, an enduring figure in politics akin to an infamous annoyance, continues to persist against all odds. Despite our frustrations, we attempt to find humor in her relentless presence.
Each time we encounter Clinton’s image on the news, we can’t help but notice how her appearance has changed—raising eyebrows and eliciting bewilderment over the years.
Remarkably, a recent Harvard-Harris presidential poll indicates that she remains the preferred candidate among registered Democrats for the 2020 presidential nomination. Although she has yet to formally announce her candidacy, the influence of Russian bots might soon compel her to run.
Real High Crimes and Misdemeanors
However, this phony impeachment process and the approaching election serve merely as distractions. The real high crimes and misdemeanors that both political parties and all branches of government ignore are the legal tender laws forcing Americans to use unconstitutional currency.
Article I, Section 8, of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress — not the Federal Reserve — the authority to coin money and regulate its value. Additionally, Article I, Section 10 stipulates that currency should be made from gold and silver, prohibiting the use of bills of credit, or debt-based legal tender notes.
Thus, the current form of the dollar is illegal for two reasons: First, it is issued by the Federal Reserve, and second, it is merely a bill of credit devoid of any backing by gold or silver.
This raises an important question: Isn’t the U.S. Constitution supposed to be the supreme law of the land? Unfortunately, its application seems reliant on political convenience.
The truth is, government officials have neglected their duties, choosing instead to ignore these fundamental issues. Until the significant crime of illegal currency is addressed, everything else remains a futile exercise.
It’s disheartening to acknowledge. Numerous inventive methods exist for a nation to dismantle itself, but the corruption of money stands as the catalyst for them all.
We appear to be heading toward disaster!
Sincerely,
MN Gordon
